Ryan Thompson has 12 years of experience as a geologist in the petroleum business drilling and frac’ing oil and natural gas wells. His work included exploration and development projects as far north as the Williston Basin spanning the Canadian border, across the Rockies, and south to the Permian Basin of West Texas. During that time he was able to compile a significant amount of fracture data from outcrops, well and geophysical data. His specialization is in structural geology: dealing with faults and stresses within the earth’s crust, tectonic history of mountain building and collapse, and geomechanics.
